Where The Wild Things Grow
This body of work visually records a WWOOF exchange undertaken during the summer of 2021. The interconnected roles of a herd of rare-breed Golden Guernsey goats, Dexter cows, and a diverse array of trees and flora were observed in the rewilding of a 48-acre smallholding in Cornwall, UK. The Soil Association-certified farm values rewilding and ecological grazing methods, and its vibrant wildlife reflects the richness of life below the soil. The site is also located near the southernmost point of the British mainland, the Lizard Peninsula, which is largely composed of rare metamorphic rocks, including jade-green serpentine.
WWOOF is part of a global movement that links visitors with organic farmers, promotes cultural and educational exchange, and fosters a worldwide community committed to ecological farming and sustainability practices.
